A man is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault involving a child that left the young person injured during an incident in Dutchess County.

Investigators said the incident happened in Red Hook, where a physical altercation occurred between the suspect and the child that resulted in injuries.

Authorities said 35‑year‑old Zackariah Jackson cut the child’s lip and allegedly choked the child using his forearms.

Jackson was arrested and later arraigned on multiple charges.

He is scheduled to return to court on April 23.
