Newly released body camera video shows the arrest of a Wassaic man accused of having a loaded gun in his vehicle while two young children were inside.

Police say 27-year-old Edwin Bowers was pulled over Tuesday for speeding on Route 22 in Southeast.

During the traffic stop, officers searched the vehicle and discovered a loaded handgun and an ammunition-feeding device.

Authorities say two children, ages 2 and 3, were also in the vehicle at the time.

Investigators say Bowers was taken into custody at the scene.

Police also report that Bowers' driver's license had been suspended six times.

Additional charges and court information were not immediately released.
