Clarkstown paid tribute to a local hero at a street renaming ceremony held on Saturday morning.

Lawrence O. Rose was a Vietnam War veteran killed in action on June 10, 1968. He earned a purple heart and several other military accolades.

He grew up in Lake Lucille and attended school in Clarkstown. Some of his family members still live in the area.
