Crews responded to a fire Saturday at a home on Eva Lane in Scarsdale.
Fire officials say it took multiple neighboring departments to help knock down the flames.
The homeowner also went inside the residence to rescue his dog before the flames intensified further, according to Greenville Fire Chief Gus Spedaliere.
“Once the homeowner exited the building, the fire got a breath of oxygen, and according to the homeowner, it exploded out the windows,” he said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
