A vehicle fire erupted southbound on Saw Mill River Parkway Friday in Irvington.
Fire officials say a help truck came across the disabled Jeep as flames began to appear from under the hood.
Crews helped the driver exit and attempted to extinguish the fire. They were unsuccessful.
When the Irvington Fire Department arrived at the scene, the flames began to spread to the brush. One firefighter said the flames did not advance further due to the rain.
Firefighters were then able to quickly extinguish the fire.
No injuries were reported.
