A Dutchess County man is behind bars after police say he assaulted his 96-year-old grandmother at her Rhinebeck home on Friday.

Detectives say 22-year-old Max Klahr got into an argument with his grandmother and then attacked her.

She was found the next day with bruises on her head and blood loss.

Klahr faces attempted murder, assault and other charges.
