A man was hospitalized after being found with a gunshot wound outside a New Rochelle deli late Sunday night, and police are searching for the people responsible.
New Rochelle police responded to multiple reports of gunfire near 2 Harrison St. around 10:46 p.m. Sunday. Officers arrived within minutes and found an adult man lying in front of a deli at that location.
Police said the victim was conscious but bleeding from the back of his head. Officers provided aid until emergency medical personnel arrived, treated him at the scene and took him to the hospital.
The man is listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials have not released his name but say he is a 40-year-old New Rochelle resident.
An anonymous person told investigators they saw two men dressed in all black running toward Cedar Street shortly after the shooting.
