New details are emerging about a police pursuit that ended in a crash on the Saw Mill Parkway in Westchester County.

Hastings‑on‑Hudson police say a man is accused of leading officers on a chase Saturday while three children were inside the vehicle.

Authorities say officers attempted to pull over the driver for a traffic violation, but he did not stop and continued driving before crashing.

Police identified the driver as 41‑year‑old Joseph Columbus, who is now facing multiple charges.

Officers say Columbus refused to get out of the vehicle after the crash. Police used force to remove him from the car.

Authorities say the three children inside the vehicle were not injured.
