yesterdayOne person was taken into custody in Mount Vernon Wednesday afternoon after an incident on Amsterdam Place.
Officials say at approximately 3 p.m., patrol units from the Mount Vernon Police Department responded to a report of individuals actively fighting on Amsterdam Place.
Upon arrival, officers located a 48-year-old female victim who had sustained minor head injuries.
The victim was transported to Montefiore Mount Vernon Emergency Room (MVER) for evaluation and treatment.
A 37-year-old suspect, who remained at the scene, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Mount Vernon Police Department for arrest processing.
