The Hudson Valley is home to a place where outdoor sports and skill-building come together.

The Blue Mountain Sportsmen’s Center offers a wide range of activities, including skeet and trap shooting, archery and target ranges.

The center gives both beginners and experienced participants a chance to improve their abilities while learning proper technique.

“It’s allowing the community to expand on their proficiency as well as just learn about the various aspects of firearm sports,” says Vladimir Valcourt, Blue Mountain Sportsmen’s Center Park Superintendent

Trap and skeet shooting are designed to simulate bird hunting using clay targets launched at high speeds.

Participants learn how to track fast-moving targets, building accuracy and timing.

Staff stress safety, requiring eye and ear protection and guiding shooters one shot at a time.

Range officers are stationed throughout the facility to assist guests of all skill levels.

“They’re going to provide you whatever necessary instruction so that you can reach that level of proficiency that you desire,” says Valcourt

The archery range offers a different challenge, focused on precision and control.

Each lane is set at varying distances, helping participants sharpen their aim gradually.

The center is open year-round, offering a local destination where sport, skill and the outdoors come together.
