A sanitation worker is recovering after being stabbed multiple times while on the job in Mount Vernon.

City officials say the Department of Public Works employee was attacked Tuesday morning near Lincoln and North 7th avenues and rushed to the hospital.

Officials have not released information about a suspect or what led to the attack.
