An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that injured two men during a large fight in Spring Valley.
Police say the violence broke out shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday near Jay Street and Division Avenue.
Investigators say a group of people attacked two men and stabbed them during the incident.
One of the victims suffered serious injuries and required a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, according to police.
Both victims are expected to recover.
Police arrested 18-year-old Diego Huerta of South Spring Valley.
Investigators allege Huerta and several other unidentified suspects struck one of the victims in the head with a glass bottle before stabbing him with a sharp weapon.
Authorities say the attack happened in front of the victim’s three children and other family members.
Huerta is charged with first-degree assault, first-degree gang assault, second-degree assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
Police say the victims and suspects do not appear to have known each other.
