It has been nearly 2 1/2 years since a sewer main broke on East Hartsdale Avenue in Hartsdale, and repairs are still not complete.
"I don't even remember how many years," said Hartsdale resident Rich Laufer.
"These spots are just being taken when there's a lot of residents who struggle to find parking," said another nearby resident.
News 12 has been reporting on the efforts of the town to get things fixed. This week, another challenge came up.
"Yesterday we had a valve malfunction which is delaying the repairs," said Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
Feiner says work is happening on that valve. Because of that, he said to expect some commotion in the area. News 12 is told the work will stop at 10 p.m.
"One of the things I'm working on is, now that it's going to get darker earlier, I think we have to do even more than we're doing to make sure that commuters and pedestrians are safe," said Feiner.
He said the light at the end of the tunnel is finally near.
"We do anticipate the work will finally be done in January," Feiner told News 12.
"It's really not a big inconvenience. There's a lot more going on in the world than this," said Reed, who lives nearby.
While neighbors like Reed aren't bothered, others told us the work can't be done soon enough.
"It's been a terrible traffic jam for a number of years. No improvement," said Laufer.
