Yonkers firefighters will begin the city's annual fire hydrant inspection program next week.

Crews will conduct inspections on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting next Tuesday and are expected to continue for approximately six to eight weeks.

Residents may experience changes in water pressure while testing is underway, according to the Yonkers Fire Department.

Officials are also advising residents not to do laundry while crews are inspecting hydrants in their neighborhood.

The annual inspections help ensure fire hydrants are operating properly.
