Overnight temperatures across the Hudson valley will dip into the lower 40s in some of the cooler spots.

Saturday looks like the best day for outdoor plans, with plenty of dry weather and comfortable fall conditions.

Changes arrive Sunday as a storm system brings widespread rain to the Hudson Valley. Rain is expected to develop late Sunday morning or early afternoon and continue into Monday, becoming moderate to heavy at times.

Most areas could pick up around an inch of rain, although totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible, with locally higher amounts. Minor street flooding and ponding in areas with poor drainage could occur during the heaviest downpours.

The good news is that this system is expected to move through relatively quickly, with rain lasting approximately 18 to 24 hours. Significant impacts are not anticipated at this time.

Bottom line: Enjoy the sunshine and crisp fall air through Saturday before a wet finish to the weekend!
