A 26-year-old is accused of second-degree murder in the death of his 71-year-old mother.
Marian Green was found dead inside her home on 43 Butler Road in Scarsdale early Tuesday morning, prompting a large police presence that stretched from Tuesday afternoon into the night.
Scarsdale Police Chief Steven DelBene says between July 5 and July 7, Chester Green stabbed and beat her multiple times with a sharp object and blunt instrument at their Fox Meadow home.
Yellow police tape remained around the home near the corner of Brewster Road as authorities continued gathering evidence.
Neighbors told News 12 they were surprised to see such a large police response in what they described as a typically quiet neighborhood.
Chester Green, was taken into custody by the Scarsdale Police Department at the scene.
He was arraigned Wednesday afternoon at White Plains Hospital and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
He will be back in Scarsdale Village Court on Aug, 5.
