A house fire caused heavy damage Wednesday at a home on Madeline Terrace in the Hamlet of Chestnut Ridge.

Firefighters worked the scene and were met with difficult conditions inside the home.

Fire officials said cluttered conditions inside made firefighting efforts more challenging.

No one was hurt in the fire.

There is no word on what caused the fire.
