A state trooper was struck during a traffic stop Sunday on I-95 north in Mamaroneck, according to authorities.

State police say it happened around 5 a.m. while the trooper was outside the patrol car along the right shoulder of the thruway.

The trooper was taken to Westchester Medical Center with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
