Former Spring Valley mayor, who was convicted of bribery, wants to run for the job again
In 2015, Noramie Jasmin, was convicted and sentenced to four years for federal charges in a bribery case while serving as mayor.

Independent candidate to challenge Rockland County executive this November
2ds agoNoramie Jasmin wants to be the Spring Valley mayor once again.
She served in that role from 2009 to 2013 and hopes her accomplishments in office, like development and infrastructure projects, get her back there this November.
In 2015, she was convicted and sentenced to four years for federal charges in a bribery case while serving as mayor.
If elected this time, she tells News 12, she would have an advisory board to help her vet people she deals with.
News 12 asked her for a message to the residents who have a hard time trusting her.
"They know my second chance will be the first for Spring Valley because at this point in time Spring Valley is in a deep hole," said Jasmin. "You need someone with experience to deliver for Spring Valley. You don't need someone you're gonna hold their hands to learn the job."
Primary day is Tuesday, June 24. Early voting is now underway.
