Officials: Trespasser fatally struck by train near Nanuet

There is still no word on what caused the accident. Officials with the MTA say that is under investigation.

Officials say a trespasser was fatally struck by a train near Nanuet on Wednesday.
"I just came out and saw I guess, this incident blocking off the train tracks," says Spring Valley resident Rome Dalce.
Officials with the Clarkstown Police Department say it was a deadly accident between a pedestrian and a train.
It happened not far from the Nanuet Train Station around 3 p.m., according to officials.
The victim's identity and age haven't been released.
There is still no word on what caused the accident. Officials with the MTA say that is under investigation.
People who live and work nearby were shocked to hear about what happened.
"It's a shock to this community, we're a quiet community," says Nanuet resident JR Brook.
The Pascack Valley Line rail service was temporarily suspended following the accident. It has since resumed.
