Authorities in Rockland County are cracking down on drivers who put people at risk.
Town of Ramapo police officers stepped up enforcement on Thursday, writing more than a dozen tickets.
One driver was cited for failing to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Six other were ticketed for using their cell phones and two more for driving left of pavement markings.
Officers also distributed pedestrian safety flyers to help raise awareness and promote safe behaviors for those walking or cycling in their community.
