A Westchester County police officer is facing DWI charges after a motorcycle crash that killed his younger brother, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say 33-year-old Michael Kilduff, of Pawling, was riding with his brother and a group of others Sunday night on State Route 9 in the town of Lake George.
Officials say his brother, 31-year-old Brian Kilduff of Brewster, died at the scene.
Authorities say Michael Kilduff appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested on DWI charges.
Investigators have not said what caused the crash or who may be responsible.
Westchester County Police say Kilduff has been placed on modified duty and will be assigned to non-enforcement duties when he returns to work.
He had been serving as the school resource officer at Pequenakonck Elementary School in North Salem. Another officer will be assigned to finish out the school year.
