Yonkers police are investigating allegations involving a staff member at Paideia School 15, according to the Yonkers Public Schools District and police.
The district says allegations were made that the staff member took pictures of female students while they were in gym class. The staff member has since been reassigned to non-teaching duties in another building.
According to the district, the school principal met with the students and the staff member before the matter was referred to Yonkers police to determine whether the allegations can be substantiated.
The principal initially notified parents about the incident in a letter sent last week. The district has not identified the staff member or disclosed the person's position at the school.
Yonkers police confirmed the school district referred an incident stemming from Paideia School 15 for further investigation. Police say the department's Intelligence Unit is investigating the matter and that no additional information is being released while the investigation remains active.
