A report of an argument and shots fired sparked a large police response in downtown White Plains, but authorities say no victims were found and no gunfire occurred.

The city's public safety commissioner says police responded Wednesday to Waller Avenue after receiving a report of an argument involving shots fired. Officers searched the area but found no evidence of gunfire and no victims.

Officials now believe the incident was a swatting call. Police are working to identify the person responsible for making the false report.
